Smit & Zoon wins EY Family Business Legacy Award 2018
Weesp, The Netherlands, October 3rd – Smit & zoon won the EY Family Business Legacy Award of 2018 on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2018. This is an oeuvre prize that rewards and recognizes the qualities of exceptional entrepreneurs from family businesses in the Netherlands.
Smit & zoon has continuously reinvented themselves over the course of almost 200 years. Being among the top 5 players within the leather industry, Smit & zoon is making a difference within the market, especially in regards to its CSR policy.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award has been awarded in over 60 countries for more than 30 years. It’s intended to put entrepreneurship on a pedestal as well as to encourage and support entrepreneurs to be the best they can be, to themselves and to their clients and employees.
Smit & Zoon makes a difference @ 35th India International Leather fair: Focuses on Upcycling for the leather Industry
The 35th India International Leather fair took place in Chennai from 31 Jan – 3 Feb 2020.
Smit & Zoon jointly with our authorised partners Leer Group participated promoting both SMIT & CODYECO brands and how these brands can make a difference for our customers and for the world around us. The leathers on display were developed focusing on upcycling all from lower selections, slow moving leathers from Indian origin procured from domestic tanneries.
Leather Naturally starts funding for METCHA year 2
Leather Naturally announced the success story of their Global Marketing Campaign METCHA and started the funding for the second year of this campaign that was launched in July 2019.
Smit & Zoon hands out scholarship fund to Shaanxi University of Science & Technology
Smit & zoon, global manufacturer of leather processing products, today announced that it has handed out a scholarship fund to Shaanxi University of Science & Technology in Xi’an, China. The University will use this fund for research on sustainable leather manufacturing.
