ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Quality and safety of our products are of the utmost importance to us at Royal Smit & Zoon. Various certifications prove that our products comply with international industry standards and legal requirements.

Worldwide Royal Smit & Zoon has achieved various ISO certificates.

ISO 9001

For organizations asking how to improve the quality of their products and services and consistently meet their customers’ expectations, ISO has an answer. Addressing various aspects of quality management and containing some of ISO’s best-known standards, there’s the ISO 9000 family.

To assure our customers that our processes are clear, traceable and sound, Royal Smit & Zoon the Netherlands has been ISO 9001 certified since 1995, Smit Nanjing, China since 2013 and Codyeco, Italy has achieved their ISO 9001 certificate since 2020. See our ISO 9001 certificates below.

ISO 14001

For companies and organizations of any type that require practical tools to manage their environmental responsibilities, there’s the ISO 14000 family.

Royal Smit & Zoon Amersfoort has a certified environmental management system according to ISO 14001 since July 2010. In May 2013, the environmental management system was expanded to the Weesp plant and also Smit Nanjing, China has been ISO 14001 certified since 2013. See our ISO 14001 certificates below.

ISO 45001

ZDHC

We have achieved the ZDHC/Chem-MAP certification for our sites in Weesp, Amersfoort and Nanjing. Codyeco has also obtained ZDHC Level 3 certification for sites in Santa Croce, Castelfranco and Montorso.

Ecovadis

Royal Smit & Zoon started to collaborate with EcoVadis in 2015 and since then, we were accredited with the SILVER rating. We are very pleased that EcoVadis accredited us with GOLD in 2021 and 2022, meaning that we belong to the top 7% of companies. In 2023 we have achieved the PLATINUM rating! With this recognition, Royal Smit & Zoon belongs to the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis Rating
The EcoVadis methodology focuses on assessing the sustainability performance of more than 75.000 organizations worldwide on 21 issues across 4 impact themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The 21 issues or criteria are based upon international sustainability standards such as the Global Compact Principles, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, the ISO 26000 standard, and the CERES principles. Ecovadis’ methodology reflects on the quality of a company’s ESG management system – through its policies, actions, and results. The evidence-based assessments are refined into easy-to-read scorecards, providing zero to one hundred (0-100) scores and medals (bronze, silver, gold, platinum).
