From Paris to New York: Zeology gets worldwide attention at fairs

In Paris, we joined forces with SPOOR, a brand from Danish tannery Scan Hide. Together, we offered traceability, transparency and sustainability from farm level to tanned leather. A unique solution to conscious brands co-creating a better sustainable tomorrow in the leather and fashion industry. This event was all about the latest fashion trends and innovations for a more sustainable value chain.

We were very happy to have our stand in the hall next to the Eco-Innovation Forum. This area was dedicated to the latest technical evolutions in Fabric, Leather and alternative materials. Here, the innovation happened! This resulted in three very busy days with interesting and in-depth conversations. We were asked, among others:

• Can Zeology leather perform and protect for extreme use gloves, for Mount Everest climbing for example? Of course, yes.
• Would Zeology be the right fit for garden gloves, that can after usage compost in the garden? We love that idea.

Talk: Innovative Tanning – Mastering sustainable chemistry

Florian Schrey, Account Director Brands & OEM’s, took part in a table talk about tanning methods. Together with Marina Coutelan, Eco-responsible fashion consultant and Carine Montarras, Fashion product manager, leather expert Première Vision he discussed the pro’s and cons of the different tanning options and of course the opportunities offered by Zeology, our sustainable tanning agent.

Zeology shines in New York

From 19 – 21 July Zeology leather literally was the shining center at Global Footwear Sourcing, a new feature area at Texworld in New York. Our new collection with high gloss finish was showcased here, together with footwear made with Zeology leather.

We were grateful for the great amount of interest in Zeology leather by brands in footwear, garments, furniture and also a number of universities. Biodegradable, compostable, bio-based leather in combination with high-performance is in demand! We are happy to meet that demand with Zeology leather and our range of bio based solutions in wet-end and finishing.
