Tell us about your work environment. What does it look like? And what are your responsibilities at Royal Smit & Zoon?

My work environment is positive.  I am entrusted and treated with equality by my team. I am empowered to voice my opinions and express disagreements openly. Despite not being a native Dutch speaker, my colleagues enthusiastically assist me in learning the language.  We build team by appreciating our diversity and embracing our differences.

I am a demand planner, with responsibilities:   1) Manage demand   2) Manage SLOB  3) Support new ERP project  4) Provide input for S&OP   5) Support the development of supply chain department

Royal Smit & Zoon is driven by a purpose. To make the leather value chain environmentally & socially sustainable. What is your purpose? What gives you energy in your job?

My purpose is to create a positive impact on the environment and society for the well-being of future generations. Following the birth of my daughter last year, I made the decision to align my career with a company that shares these values.

My energy of job is from three sources. (1)  Passion for leather products. Leather products express a decent, self-disciplined, minimalistic and functional life style.  (2)  Alignment with Personal Goals. I want to develop myself as supply chain expert.  In my job I am developing new processes and collaborating with people from different backgrounds. This challenge makes me feel excited. I am learning new things by doing my job. (3) Supportive Work Environment. My manager provides excellent encouragement and support, and manage the team with empathy.  My teammates are affable and humorous, making our collaboration enjoyable and productive.
