Get to know your colleagues a little bit better. Our “questions for…” travels around the globe from one colleague to another. Every colleague will answer the same questions. 3 questions for… Suzanne Doho Tell us about your work environment. What does it look like? And what are your responsibilities at Royal Smit & Zoon? Hi all, my name is Suzanne Doho, born in Amsterdam, married to my Bob for many years and a proud mom of two ‘young adults’ of 30 and 32 years old and an even more proud grandmom of our granddaughter, now 1,5 years old! I have been working at the Customer Service department at Smit Weesp for over 6,5 years now, first in the role of Order Fulfilment Officer and then as Coordinator Order Fulfilment. Also, I am a member of the Works Council. I really like the combination of export administration, coordinating things for the OFO group and being actively involved in works council related matters. Compared to some of my colleagues, who have been at Smit for over 30 years, I definitely feel like a baby in the department, but I do feel very much at home, we have a great team! Royal Smit & Zoon is driven by a purpose. To make the leather value chain environmentally & socially sustainable. What is your purpose? What gives you energy in your job? It’s different to work for a family-run business. I must admit, I hesitated before accepting the job at Smit (leather leaching, pollution etc.). But it’s really palpable, that this family also thinks about generations to come. This is what I chose for at the time and Zeology is another confirmation of this. I can now say, that I am proud to be part of the Smit group/family. Suzanne Doho Coördinator Order Fulfilment At Royal Smit & Zoon, we love leather. What is your favorite leather item? I love leather furniture, purses, shoes, (shopping)bags. And would love to know how environmentally & socially sustainable these items are… How to check? That would be really interesting! These two bags are like collector’s items for me. Bag I – was a gift from a very good friend of mine from Mali – colleagues leather specialists recognize this, for sure! Bag II – is a ‘doctors’ backpack (Dutch brand: Fred de la Bretonnière) – must be at least 25 years old now. Who are you going to pass the baton to? To my colleague in India – Baanusree! I met her in real once, but do not know so much about her. Back to globe stories
