Rajeswari C.

Tell us about your work environment. What does it look like? And what are your responsibilities at Royal Smit & Zoon?

My work environment is safe and reliable. We have a positive work culture that motivates to complete the tasks efficiently & effectively. Happy to be part of a team, coming up with new ideas to improve myself. As a Customer management officer, I am responsible for customer service which involves analyzing data to ensure customer satisfaction. Taking ownership of customer issues and following problems through to resolution. My responsibilities for India accounts include sales order processing, procurement, reporting and inventory management. My essential task is to invest on right inventory, reducing non/slow movers and focus on customer forecast requirement.

Royal Smit & Zoon is driven by a purpose. To make the leather value chain environmentally & socially sustainable. What is your purpose? What gives you energy in your job?

Sustainable living practices not only help to reduce pollution but also conserve natural resources like water and energy. I contribute by providing all safety documents(MSDS) to the warehouse team and customers in order to support safe handling of materials, the execution of scraps with authorized vendors, minimizing the amount of paper work and the creation of more digital documents, and the documentation of MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances list) on a regular basis from the vendor to ensure that none of the listed substances has been used in their raw materials.

Learning new things, and completing tasks give me energy at work. Of course, healthy snacking gives me active energy 🙂

At Royal Smit & Zoon, we love leather. What is your favorite leather item?

Leather couch is my favorite item. Couch makes the house feel like home. After a long day, it gives a cozy space to unwind and rest. My special spot for napping, reading, snacking or simply taking a break.

Who are you going to pass the baton to?

To my colleague Alice Chiti in Italy.
