3 questions for…
Felipe Lenharo

Tell us about your work environment. What does it look like? And what are your responsibilities at Royal Smit & Zoon?

Normally I am traveling to attend customers in different tanneries based in Brazil. Also to our lab in the south part of the country to develop new articles and learn from my colleagues as well. When not traveling, I am working from home at Presidente Prudente where I have been living for the past 7 years. Its a beautiful middle-size city with some tanneries and good weather the whole year. Our country has a huge potential in leather business and my goal is to open new customers and also grow sales in the main ones, strengthen the name of Royal Smit & Zoon and increasing our technical support here in Brazil.

Felipe Lenharo,
Leather technician & sales wet end

Royal Smit & Zoon is driven by a purpose. To make the leather value chain environmentally & socially sustainable. What is your purpose? What gives you energy in your job?

My purpose is to make the processes smarter and more sustainable, and making the article even nicer as the consumer is always demanding superior technology on leather. Convincing clients to replace fossil based products as Acrylic to Biopolymer or Chrome to Zeology, I am sure we are creating a better future for everybody. And also with my friends and family I am always explaining benefits of leather instead other materials like plastic. Most of them have very few information about leather and its process.

At Royal Smit & Zoon, we love leather. What is your favorite leather item?

Nowadays my favourite item is a backpack made by my wife (she is fashion designer and has an e-commerce started 2 years ago) 100% leather and really comfortable, durable and gorgeous. It helps me to travel wherever I go comfortably with my personal and professional belongs.

Felipe… who are you going to pass the baton to?

I will pass the baton to my colleague Salva Vidal.
