Tell us about your work environment. What does it look like? And what are your responsibilities at Royal Smit & Zoon?

Hi dears, my name is Alice Chiti and I am the coordinator export dept.  in Codyeco Spa. I work closely with 3 Ladies (Serena, Claudia and Daniela) who carry out the operational side,  which I sort and analyze.

Every order that arrives is checked by me in every part: if the products are written correctly and always in the range, if the prices are entered into system otherwise I worry about asking the competent area manager or if any suspended payment, and after assigning it to a colleague,  who follows the pure part of entering the system and invoicing,  I also ensure that everything does not suffer delays.

Practically from A to Z, I follow the order together with my ladies and I make sure it is processed in a timely manner and with my team I select the best quality shipping service at the best price by comparing myself with them. We share all info.

We work together with my team in contact with the warehouse and production depts to check what is already available or to be produced.

I feel like on a ship together with my team and all together we contribute to the good navigation… each one putting effort and dedication .. said so in two lines it seems very simple and simplistic .. but there are many things from the receipt of a request  to its order fulfillment  and each customer has his own treatment and agreement. I’m like a joker who connects the various departments together and tries to make the work of my operational colleagues as easy as possible. I can define myself as a problem solver of the export office!

It is important to pay maximum attention so as not to compromise the commercial relationships that are the fuel for our continuation!

Royal Smit & Zoon is driven by a purpose. To make the leather value chain environmentally & socially sustainable. What is your purpose? What gives you energy in your job?

Our daily goal is to save money and time , while giving the customer the best option in terms of navigation services and try to combine quality and skills and more services where possible.

We try to aim to save energy and resources by avoiding useless printing of emails and sending documents digitally for the most part. I also believe that it is important to periodically coordinate ourselves so that the whole Company is aware of the common objectives … only in this way can we truly be a team.

At Royal Smit & Zoon, we love leather. What is your favorite leather item?

My favorite leather object is the bag or the comfortable backpack, large with multiple pockets where you can store both personal and work things. I love the practicality and simple details like weaving in this beautiful bag attached.
