Tell us about your work environment. What does it look like? 

I work at Royal Smit & Zoon in Weesp. From my office, I have a beautiful view of the Vecht river. Because of my central spot in the office, I get to see a lot of what’s going on. I really enjoy it when there’s a lot of activity.

What do you do in a day?

My role is Assistant to the board. So I try to keep everything running as smoothly as possible, in terms of planning and organization.

What is your favorite leather item, and why?

My favorite leather object is the little red heart on my keychain. We received it on Valentine’s Day in 2022, and it has been on my keyring ever since. I’m also very proud of the golden bags, made in India especially for the three daughters of Queen Maxima. We gave these as a present when Maxima visited our headquarters.

What is your favorite project you have worked on so far? Or, if you have just joined the company: what drew you to working at Royal Smit & Zoon?

From 2020 to 2022, I contributed to all the wonderful events surrounding the 200^th anniversary. The red heart also dates back to this period.

What sustainable actions are you taking, at work or in your personal life?

Every day, I try to pay as much attention to sustainability as possible. Every little bit helps, and I believe that if we all, as individuals around the world, commit to making this small effort, it could make a big difference.
