Besides achieving the OHSAS 18001 accreditation, the company’s annual ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 review has also been successful. This means that Smit & zoon’s finishing facilities in Montorso, Italy, are awarded not only with ISO 9001 accreditation for quality management and with ISO 14001 for environmental management, but with OHSAS 18001 accreditation for health and safety in the workplace as well. These awards recognise Smit & zoon’s commitment to an integrated management system covering quality, safety, health & environment for its employees and its contractors.
“Achieving OHSAS 18001 is a major milestone for us,” commented Jeroen Schipper, Managing Director of Smit & zoon Finishing. “It reflects the responsibility Smit & zoon’s management takes to ensure we look after our employees, our customers and our business partners at all times. This firm belief is embedded within every aspect of our business.”
Smit & zoon’s Nanjing plant in China already received the OHSAS 18001 certification in 2016. The company’s Dutch plants also hope to attain this certification soon. A complete overview of Smit & zoon’s certifications can be found here.
